徹查真相

英文Probe這個字在報章報道很常見，因為無論任何事件發生，如果涉及公眾利益或事關重大，有關部門或機構都會調查、探究或設法了解真相。
例如：「調查批地情況」是 Probe land grant,「調查集團內的貪污情況」是 Probe corruption within the group, 而「設法了解地震的原因」就是 Probe the causes of the earthquake.
注意：它用作動詞時加不加 into 都可以，但用作名詞時就需要跟into 連用。
例如： A probe into the scandals 是「醜聞的調查」，而 The court case led to a probe into prison conditions就是「那法庭案件導致監獄情況的調查」。
如果你的戒指掉到泥裡，你用樹枝探尋，那就是 Probe the mud with a stick.
