爭先恐後

還記得去年1月，地下鐵路一輛列車的第一個車廂遭人放火，那時候，乘客爭著逃往第二個車廂。
英文是Passengers in the first carriage scrambled to the second carriage. Scramble 在這裡是動詞，解作「爭先恐後」。
例如： The boys scrambled to get the best seats就是「那些男孩子爭著去搶最佳座位」。
它可以與介詞 for 連用，例如： The fans scrambled for tickets 是「球迷搶購門票」，每天早上，很多人在家中「爭用洗手間」，那就是Scramble for the toilet，不過，請大家留意 Scramble 有另一個普遍的用法，那就是Scrambled eggs 即炒蛋 。1903年已有文章這樣記載：She scrambled eggs and bacon, and ate them.
