Goodwill

報章報道，荷李活女星 Angelina Jolie以聯合國難民公署的 Goodwill ambassador身分，訪問巴基斯坦北部的地震災民。英文Goodwill ambassador 就是親善大使。
英文 Goodwill 是名詞，中文的解釋是親善、善意、友好，英文的解釋是：Goodwill is a friendly or helpful attitude towards other people.
例如：「親善的姿態」是 a gesture of goodwill. 而 a goodwill mission 就是「友好訪問團」。
「對人表示善意」是 show goodwill to/towards somebody. 它又可以解釋為信譽、商譽，例如：「建立一家公司 的商譽」是 build up the goodwill of a firm. 「我們付出五萬元買下這家商店的商譽」就是We paid $50,000 for the goodwill of the shop.
