While Lee called the latest shooting - the second involving police officers in six months - an "isolated" case, it has drawn attention to the stress officers face on and off duty。 The allegations relate to an isolated mishandling of one piece of property, and did not involve a large sum of public money。
形容事件或情況,例如Isolated incident/case/event。

Police say that last week's protest was an isolated incident是「警方說上星期的抗議是個別事件」,但當它形容地方或人的時候,它解作「孤立」或「隔離」。例如:An isolated farmhouse是「孤立的農舍」,An isolated patient是「被隔離的病人」。
